Malitza - Your personal jewellery designer and manufacturer

Designing is the creative process that the designer use to create unique jewellery pieces.

Every designer develops new ideas in an individual and unique way. Before designing a piece of Jewellery for the client, Malitza would spend quality time with them in order to understand clearly what their specific needs are. She would then discuss and design a few ideas with them until the client is satisfied with the design.

Using different manufacturing processes and methods she would now create the jewellery piece.

Inspiration forms an important aspect in the designing process. Everything around us such as nature, symbols, music etc. can be used as inspiration for the designer. The designer will then develop the idea, select the materials and determine the techniques.

Malitza Nel studied fine art, textile design and Jewellery Design (Degree) at the Tswane University of Technology. With her artistic background and jewellery skills she lectured at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa for seven years. She entered her students into various jewellery design competitions such as the De Beers Shining Light Awards, Jewellex and Anglo Gold Ashanti. This is a great opportunity for young students to design creative jewellery for a competition. A few designs were selected and manufactured as award winning pieces.
